Frequently Asked Questions

Here’s everything you need to know about The Practitioners’ Lounge—who we serve, what we offer, and how we support clinicians in building lives and careers they love.

We offer individual counselling focused on mental health, emotional wellbeing, and the unique pressures of clinical and caring professions. Support is delivered by a doctor of veterinary medicine with lived experience in clinical practice, bringing a deep understanding of the emotional, ethical, and professional challenges faced in veterinary and healthcare environments.

Common areas of support include burnout, anxiety, compassion fatigue, work-related stress, and life transitions.

Counselling sessions are delivered one-on-one in a confidential setting, either virtually or in person. Sessions are shaped by an understanding of real-world clinical environments, including unpredictable schedules, emotional intensity, and the demands of working in high-responsibility roles.

These services are well suited for individuals working in veterinary, healthcare, or people-centred roles who value working with someone who understands the realities of clinical work without needing them explained. Clients do not need to be in crisis — counselling is equally valuable for proactive wellbeing and long-term sustainability.

Business support is led by Charlotte Fahy, Certified Veterinary Practice Manager, International Coaching Federation Level 2 (Qualifying) with over 20 years of experience across hospitality, healthcare, and veterinary sectors. Services include leadership coaching, practice management support, strategic planning, team development, and operational improvement — all grounded in the realities of running people-centred, high-pressure environments.

Training and coaching are tailored to each practice or organisation. Charlotte works closely with leaders and teams to identify challenges, set priorities, and implement practical solutions. Support is hands-on and experience-led, drawing on real operational scenarios rather than generic business theory.

Yes — we work with both. Charlotte supports individual leaders and practice owners, as well as entire teams within veterinary and healthcare settings. Engagements may be short-term or ongoing, depending on goals, stage of growth, and operational needs.

Together, our counselling and business support services reflect a shared understanding of the realities of clinical work — supporting both the people and the practices they work within.
